The Soapbox Resaurant Review of Cora In Kelowna B.C.
Reviewing this new restaurant called Cora, which is based out of Quebec and is now located at 1470 Harvey Ave turn into one of the best experiences for food that i have had in a long long time.
It has and will change the breakfast and lunch crowd’s for Kelowna forever.
We arrived on Sunday about 11:30am and were of course greeted with the Sunday experience which is prevalent in Kelowna and that is of course the line up.
While waiting the typical 15-20 minutes to enter my only thought and hope was willing this be just another typical Kelowna restaurant.
First thing you notice is the cooking area fresh fruit is everywhere, but what was truly amazing were the chiefs there seemed to be between 10 and 12 it was difficult to get an accurate count as they were moving so fast.
Upon being seated we were explained about the Cora experience and told our server would be with us shortly, within seconds she was.
She took are drink order which is as unique as the restaurant is, we ordered three fresh fruit cocktails and two coffees the cocktails were served chilled in large glasses with a fresh strawberry and grapes.
The coffee was superior to most other restaurant coffees being served in Kelowna.
We ordered our meals and prepared to wait as it was extremely busy we of course expected a 20-30 minute and to try and catch our server’s eye for at least one refill of our drinks.
Here again Cora has shown itself to be over and above any restaurant in Kelowna with the server asking if we would like refills on our drinks twice and by having two other servers as they were passing by if we required anything.
The wait for our order was only 15 minutes and because of the service only felt like 5-10 min.
Upon having our order presented to us we took a couple of minutes just to appreciate the food that had been served.
On my plate called Rosemarys Sunday 2 pieces of toast that hot to the touch with butter spread over the entire area, then came the two eggs over easy they were hot, next was blueberry pancakes also hot.
Then bacon not just your 2 standard risers but a half dozen again they hot along with the bacon were the potatoes a little different from the normal fare of hash browns nicely spiced and again hot and having a nice golden fried colour to them.
Included with this was a good slice of cantaloupe along with a couple of strawberries all fresh.
It was amazing how quiet our table became and how slowly we ate while savouring each bite.
The prices on our items were comparable to the other restaurants in Kelowna that offer Breakfast and Lunch.
This restaurant has set the standard for Breakfast & Lunch also for it’s SERVICE to such a height that at this time I feel there is no other restaurant that can be compared to it.
This is a shame for a city as big as Kelowna that it has taken this long to get this kind of quaility and service in a restaurant that people can afford.
